Your First Visit

Office Employee at computer

We are always excited about meeting new patients during their first visit to our office. Your initial appointment will consist of a thorough examination and a discussion of potential treatment options. This will be approximately 30-60 minutes.

During the initial examination we will address the following questions that cover the basics of orthodontic treatment.

  • Is there a condition that orthodontics can address?

  • Is treatment needed now or should treatment be delayed until further growth, tooth eruption or other factors have occurred?
  • What type of appliances might be used or needed to correct the orthodontic problems?
  • Do any permanent or primary teeth need to be removed?
  • How long might the treatment take?
  • How much will it cost?
  • How does my insurance work?
  • What are my payment options?

While we can often answer these general questions about treatment during the initial examination, specific treatment plans are presented after careful analysis of diagnostic records. We feel it is important to analyze each patient's specific needs, because in-depth planning leads to superior results and higher patient satisfaction.

Diagnostic records usually include X-rays, photos and study models. We know your time is valuable, so at this initial exam we may take impression for the study models. We will then assist you in scheduling any needed follow-up appointments for diagnostic records.

**If the patient is under the age of 18, a parent or guardian is needed at this appointment.
